Rimless progressive glasses combine no-line multifocal vision correction with the most minimal eyewear construction available. The key advantage of rimless frames for progressives is lens height — round and oval rimless frames naturally provide the vertical space that progressive lenses need to function comfortably, without the compressed corridors that shallow rectangular frames can create.
How Progressives Work in Rimless Frames
A progressive lens has three optical zones: distance at the top, near at the bottom, and an intermediate corridor connecting them. The corridor length is determined by the lens height. Our rimless progressive frames all have a minimum height of 34mm, with most oval and round shapes providing 38–44mm — ideal for a comfortable, wide progressive corridor.
Recommended Frame Shapes for Progressives
Oval: The best shape for rimless progressives. Generous height, soft geometry, and the classic Cartier aesthetic. Our most popular progressive frame shape. Round: Excellent — the circular geometry provides even height in all directions. Proportionate rectangle: Fine for progressives if the height is at least 36mm. Avoid very shallow rectangles (under 34mm) with progressive lenses.
